SANTA MONICA, Calif. (March 6, 2025) – The city of Santa Monica is seeking feedback from older adults, people with disabilities, caregivers and other community members to inform the forthcoming Aging and Disability Action Plan.

Interested community members can share feedback through an online survey and an in-person open house event on March 22.

By creating the action plan, the city aims to enhance services for older adults, people with disabilities and caregivers in Santa Monica, reinforcing the city’s commitment to the council priority of Justice, Equity & Inclusion.

The work to build the plan will be guided by the Action Plan Advisory Committee, a group that includes community stakeholders, subject matter experts, nonprofit partners, city commissioners and staff.

The online survey is available through April 1. Paper copies of the survey can be picked up and submitted at designated locations around the city. A full list of dates and locations are available online.

A community open house is set for Saturday, March 22, from 9 a.m. - noon at the Santa Monica College Emeritus Campus, 1227 2nd St. Attendees will have the opportunity to share their experiences and perspectives on how to make Santa Monica a more age- and disability-friendly community.

Virtual participation options will also be available for those unable to attend in person. Interested community members are encouraged to register for the open house online.

The action plan will be presented to the Santa Monica City Council for approval in fall 2025.

The development of Santa Monica’s Aging and Disability Action Plan is made possible through a grant from the California Department of Aging.
