Creative Community is the season finale of "Wave"—CityTV’s series featuring arts and culture in Santa Monica.

In this episode, we celebrate the collaborations and contributions of arts leaders here in Santa Monica and showcase the rich community of artists that choose to make Santa Monica their home. Featuring two major Arts Month events—the Santa Monica Arts Foundation’s Art Leadership Awards and The Santa Monica Airport ArtWalk—Creative Community spotlights people making important contributions to the arts not only here in Santa Monica, but regionally and internationally as well.

The Santa Monica Arts Foundation’s mission is to support Santa Monica’s arts and creative community. The Arts Foundation’s Leadership Awards honor exemplary individuals – including arts supporters, artists, and youth—and businesses or organizations who support the artistic and cultural communities that make Santa Monica a vibrant place to live. This year’s winners include: Marisa Caichiolo, Director and Curator of Building Bridges Art Exchange; the dance company Jacob Jonas The Company;  Carmen Casillas for her work as captain of two of Santa Monica High School’s dance teams; Isabelle D'Amico for her work as a youth representative on  the 18th Street Arts Center's Gallery Advisory board; and Laemmle Arts, led by Greg Laemmle and Sheryl Myerson, in recognition of the dynamic arts programs presented at the Laemmle Monica Film Center.

Creative Community also features artists who participated in the Santa Monica Airport ArtWalk. Now in its 13th year, The ArtWalk is an annual fun-filled day of artistic exploration. Attendees viewed exhibitions, toured studios, watched art and ceramic demonstrations, participated in art and theater workshops, and enjoyed live music and food trucks. "~Wave~” dips in for a peek into the arts community at the Airport with interviews from artists in the Santa Monica Arts Studios and its Arena 1 Gallery, Santa Monica College Ceramic Art, The Museum of Flying, and the Ruskin Theater group. Featured artists include Amita Namji, Gayle Mccole, Natalia Sevastyanova, Margaret Hyde, Rebecca Youssef, Alberto Vanetti, Michele Camporeale, Luigia Mortelloni, Susie Mckay Kreiser, Mike Machat, Tommy Hollenstein, Krista Augius, Mike Myers and Yossi Govrin.
