Be active, be social and have fun! Each season, Santa Monica Community Recreation offers all kinds of programs designed to support the health and wellbeing of all Santa Monicans. Here is a highlight of sports and activities especially geared towards baby boomers to keep the heart rate pumping and the friendships growing:
PICKLEBALL DROP IN PROGRAM
A sport that is a cross between tennis, ping pong, and badminton, and is a rapidly growing in popularity. Can be played in singles or doubles on a court roughly the size of a badminton court. All equipment is provided.
Try Pickleball for free Saturday, December 8 from Noon - 2 p.m. at Memorial Park. This free clinic will provide equipment and an introduction to Pickleball.
TENNIS
Whether you’re looking for beginning instruction or drills to hone in on positioning and strategy, a variety of lessons and instructors are available every day of the week.
DROP IN SOCCER
Participants may arrive at 8:30 p.m. to register. Space is limited to the first 66 participants and priority is given to Santa Monica residents with proof of residency.
LAWN BOWLING
As part of a partnership with the Santa Monica Bowls Club, enjoy an age and gender neutral sport that is easy to learn, but requires skill and strategy to keep you competitive, Whether you want to bowl socially or aspire to international competition, Santa Monica Bowls Club can provide you with the equipment, skills

MEMORIAL PARK FITNESS ROOM
Enjoy an easy-going gym experience with top-notch equipment located in Memorial Park. Must be 16 years of age and older.
LITTLE HOOPS
Parents and grandparents can bring their little ones on select days to the Memorial Park Gym to practice shooting with shorter rims to help build confidence. For youth ages 3-8 and their caregivers.

CAMERA OBSCURA ART LAB
The Camera Obscura Art Lab at 1450 Ocean is a hive of activity, where adults of all ages can roll up their sleeves and dive into hands-on crafts, art, and cultural programs. Artist Residency programs bring local artists to the Camera to practice their craft and share their work with participants.
SANTA MONICA PUBLIC LIBRARY
Enjoy programs for every age. Get tips on keeping your brain healthy, learning new technology, or mindful meditation, all at your local library.
