by George S. Cardona
The City of Santa Monica has retained OIR Group to prepare an independent after-action report and evaluation regarding the events leading to, during, and following May 31, 2020. As part of its work, OIR Group wants to hear from community members and local businesses. There are different ways to participate:
- You may provide email comments, together with any photographs, video-links, or other documents you wish to provide, to michael.gennaco@oirgroup.com. All information received will be provided to OIR Group for consideration in its preparation of the after-action report and evaluation. By providing your email address, you authorize OIR Group to contact you if they believe follow-up is appropriate. If you do not wish to be contacted, please indicate this in your email and your request will be honored.
- OIR Group will be conducting at least two listening sessions at which comments can be provided in person. To comply with distancing requirements imposed as a result of COVID-19, these sessions will be conducted remotely and you must register in advance to participate. The first of the listening sessions will be on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at 5:30 pm. If you wish to attend the meeting as a participant, please register on Eventbrite. Registrations are limited to 75 and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Those accepted will receive an email shortly before the listening session with a link and instructions on how to sign in as a participant. The listening session will also be available for live viewing on Santa Monica CityTV Channel 16 or City of Santa Monica YouTube Channel: youtube.com/user/Citytv16santamonica.
The City is committed to ensuring that OIR Group obtains the information it needs to provide an independent after-action report and evaluation. If you have information you believe is relevant, please take the time to provide it through one of these methods.
