
2025 Black History Month Proclamation

Artist Lisa Diane Wedgeworth will present an original artwork proclamation in honor of Black History Month. Note that this ceremony takes place near the start of the Council session, after a public comment period, and so the start time will be sometime after 5:30pm.
Lisa Diane Wedgeworth is a Los Angeles-based interdisciplinary artist employing abstract painting, performance and video as creative processes to interpret energy as an investigation of personal and collective narratives. She is a recipient of residencies in Florida, Paris and Santa Monica and teaches in a variety of institutions in California. Her work is included in private collections and at the California African American Museum and the Studio Museum in Harlem.
