Community Visit to Kuruvungna Springs

Join the City of Santa Monica's DEI Team and the Gabrielino~Tongva Springs Foundation for a visit to this sacred site to the people of Tovaangar (the LA Basin, including Santa Monica) in recognition of Native American Heritage Month! 

Learn from Gabrielino-Tongva Springs Foundation 501(c)(3), President, Bob Ramirez, about the significance of Kuruvungna Springs, the history of the people of Tovaangar, and even how Santa Monica got its name. (Hint: It is related to the springs!) Most importantly, learn how we can all be good kuuyam (guests) on this land through reciprocity.
