19th St. Community Farm
ABOUT THE SITE
This site was purchased by the City in 2019 using a combination of of General Funds and Community Development Block Grant Funds to be used as an agricultural space. The site is roughly 8000 square feet and has been vacant for over 20 years.
CURRENT STATUS
The project is divided into two phases. Phase 1 will involve basic infrastructure, such as leveling, border fence upgrades and water connections. These initial plans have been put out for bids. Once received and reviewed, it will need approval by City Council. We expect to have construction on Phase 1 in early 2025.
Phase 2 will work to incorporate suggestions garnered from our design workshops and subsequent conversations and input. We are currently preparing design options that we feel best reflect what we have heard, taking into account available funding and efficient use of those funds. These are going to be presented to the Community for input during the two meetings below. In addition, we will be presenting to the Recreation and Parks Commission for their feedback as well.
