How-To Festival - What do you want to learn today?

Santa Monica, California – Santa Monica Public Library presents its first How-To Festival on Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Main Library and from noon to 3:00 p.m. at all neighborhood branch locations.
This interactive festival, with something for everyone and all ages, features more than 55 workshops spread over five library locations. Visit your local branch for hands-on experience learning a new skill. Scheduled events include How to make a rain garden, How to code a website in HTML, How to meditate, How to write a short story, How to Bollywood dance, How to do backyard science experiments, How to talk like a pirate, and much, much more. This event is free and open to the public. Seating is first come, first served. Santa Monica Public Library is wheelchair accessible. For special accommodations, call Library Administration at (310) 458-8606 at least one week prior to event. The Main Library is served by Big Blue Bus routes 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9 and 10. The Santa Monica branch libraries are served by Big Blue Bus lines 1 and 8 for the Ocean Park Branch, 8 for the Fairview Branch, 7 for the Pico Branch, and 3M and the 41 Crosstown Ride for the Montana Avenue Branch. Ride your bike. Bicycle parking racks are available at all library locations, and a bike valet is available at the Main Library until 4 pm on the day of the event.
