Discover the History of the Girl Scouts at Santa Monica Public Library

Santa Monica, California – Santa Monica Public Library, in conjunction with the Santa Monica History Museum and Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles, presents Discover the History of the Girl Scouts on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 6:30 pm in the Main Library’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Blvd.
Celebrate Women’s History Month with a lecture on the history of the Girl Scouts, who celebrate 105 years of empowering women and girls this March. Dr. Lisette Gold, a Santa Monica Girl Scouts Service Unit Manager and Ambassador Troop #8355 Leader, shares the history of the Girl Scouts and discusses local scouting and its impact on the community. Presentation at the Main Library begins at 6:30 pm. Free admission to the Santa Monica History Museum’s Girl Scout exhibit before the program from 5:00 to 6:30 pm.
This program is free and open to all ages. Seating is limited and on a first arrival basis. The Santa Monica Public Library is wheelchair accessible. For special disabled services, call Library Administration at (310) 458-8606 at least one week prior to event. The Main Library is directly served by Big Blue Bus lines 1, R10 and 18. The Expo Line and other bus routes stop nearby. Ride your bike. Bicycle parking racks are available at the library.
