“Savvy Seniors” Fraud-Prevention Event June 26

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – On Wednesday, June 26, the Santa Monica City Attorney's Consumer Protection Division and WISE and Healthy Aging will present "Savvy Seniors: Protect Yourself Against Fraud and Scams" from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Ken Edwards Center, 1527 4th Street in Santa Monica.
This free event will focus on empowering seniors to protect themselves from scams and fraud. Topics will include phone, Internet, and email scams targeting older adults.
Speakers include Jackie Wiley from the California Department of Business Oversight, and Dani Kaiserman, Elder Justice Staff Attorney at Bet Tzedek Legal Services.
June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month. While the event is focused on seniors, all are welcome to attend. The event will include a question-and-answer period, and a continental breakfast will be served.
