City Attorney Lane Dilg Named President of Los Angeles County Prosecutors Association

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – Last week, Santa Monica City Attorney Lane Dilg was elected President of the Los Angeles County Prosecutors Association (LACPA). Dilg was elected by the membership of the organization, which serves as a forum for information sharing regarding key issues confronting countywide prosecutors and offers educational opportunities for prosecutors throughout the region.
“Our greatest challenges are regional and shared,” said Dilg. “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead LACPA’s efforts to strengthen innovation and effectiveness in criminal justice programs across the County. By working and learning together, we bring stronger results home to our communities.”
In accordance with the City Charter, the Santa Monica City Attorney’s Office prosecutes all misdemeanor criminal offenses arising in the City, ranging from domestic abuse, drunk driving, and burglaries, to minor infractions. The Office’s Criminal Division also works together with City staff, the Los Angeles Superior Court, and the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office to run a Homeless Community Court focused on connecting people experiencing homelessness charged with non-violent offenses to housing and services.
Other LACPA board members, include: Jackie Lacey, District Attorney of Los Angeles County; Mike Feuer, City Attorney of Los Angeles; Doug Haubert, Long Beach City Prosecutor; Michele Bagneris, Pasadena City Attorney/Chief Prosecutor; and Amy Albano, Burbank City Attorney.
Dilg follows Long Beach City Prosecutor Doug Haubert as LACPA president, a one-year term.
