Murder Conviction

Santa Monica, CA – On September 16, 2019 the Santa Monica Police Department was notified the murder trial involving Jessie Ramirez Perez had concluded and the jury returned a favorable verdict. The suspect was found guilty of Murder in the Second Degree.
On October 3, 2018 at around 8:12pm, Santa Monica Officers responded to Tongva Park (1615 Ocean Avenue) for an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, they found a male victim suffering from a stab wound. The male victim was sleeping in the park when he was stabbed in the abdomen without provocation. The male victim succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect was seen running from the crime scene and was arrested by responding officers. Perez was booked for Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Perez was on felony probation for Assault with a Deadly Weapon at the time of his arrest. He is facing fifteen years to life. Sentencing for Perez is scheduled for October 30, 2019.
