WHAT: The Santa Monica City Clerk and Los Angeles County Clerk will host a National Voter Registration Day event at Santa Monica College (SMC) to demonstrate the County’s new ballot marking device and provide information on upcoming mock elections at SMC.

WHY: Every election, some citizens are unable to vote because they miss a registration deadline, do not update their registration, or are unsure of how to register. The goal of National Voter Registration Day is to help eligible voters exercise a basic right – the right to vote. Santa Monica College students, faculty and visitors can register with City and County Clerk staff in the quad.
Community members can also complete registration forms at City Hall, all Santa Monica branch libraries, and online at smvote.org (registration status check also available).
