Community Social Justice Book Discussion

Santa Monica Public Library, in partnership with the Santa Monica City Manager’s Office, is hosting a series of Social Justice Book Discussions. The program takes place on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. and is an opportunity to connect and discuss social justice topics that are important to our community.
The first title in the series, White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism by Robin DiAngelo, explores the counterproductive reactions white people have, when discussing racism, that serve to protect their positions and maintain racial inequality. Read the book and join the conversation. Electronic copies of the title are available for check out using the Library’s Libby app or Overdrive. The book can also be picked up from curbside service at the Main, Pico, or Montana Ave. Branch Libraries.
