Santa Monica Public Library Reopens for In-Person Service June 1
May 13, 2021 9:32 AM
The City of Santa Monica is pleased to announce that on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, the Santa Monica Public Library Main Library at 601 Santa Monica Blvd., will reopen for limited in-person service to the community. The following services will be available at the Main Library: in-person browsing of the first-floor collection, checking out items, holds pick-up, public computer use (30 minutes per person), printing, and brief in-person interaction with staff.
“We are excited to safely welcome patrons back to the Main Library for in-person services, another significant milestone in our recovery,” said Library Services Director Patty Wong. “The best way to make the most of your time at the Library is to plan your trip: wear a face mask, know the books or resources you’d like to check out or explore, and if there are any questions you have about returning to the Library, reach out to one of our dedicated Library staff.”
The City and the Library are committed to a safe facility for patrons and staff. Library spaces were reconfigured to provide safe and welcoming environments while aligning the Library with the best practices of public libraries throughout California and the rest of the country.
New Library Hours for the Main Library, Pico, and Montana Ave. Branches:
In July, the phased approach to reopening continues when the doors of the Ocean Park Branch, 2601 Main Street, open through a unique self-service model, allowing patrons access to the Library collection, self-checkout of items, holds pick-up, and public computer use.
Curbside Pickup Service will continue at the Montana Avenue Branch and Pico Branch Libraries throughout the summer.
