It’s Frieze Week in Santa Monica, and the eyes of the international art world are focused on our great city.
The fair, taking place Feb. 29 - March 3 at the Santa Monica Airport, will attract internationally renowned artists, showcase our regional creativity and add a new artwork to the city of Santa Monica’s municipal Art Bank collection through a special programmatic partnership. Members of the public who don't have a ticket can still visit the nonprofit tent, which includes Tanya Aguiñiga, our very own City Yards artist, with her Ambos project.
As we welcome thousands of artists, galleries and arts enthusiasts to our city for this special event, we invite everyone to also engage with Santa Monica’s vibrant creative community and explore additional arts opportunities around town.
Whether you’re here for the fair or don’t have tickets, there are plenty of extra activities and events to celebrate the arts this week in Santa Monica:
- Feb 1 – 29: Collaborative Art Celebrating Black History Month at the Santa Monica Main Library
- Feb. 16 – ongoing: Art of Recovery – “Our Pico” photography project exhibition at the Annenberg Community Beach House gallery now on view.
- Thursday, Feb. 29 – Sunday, March 3: Frieze Los Angeles at Santa Monica Airport. Explore Santa Monica Travel and Tourism’s guide to everything Frieze

And anytime:
Santa Monica is known as a center for the arts, and the city continues to support arts and cultural programs for all who live, work, play and visit. And this past year the City Council reaffirmed its commitment to these efforts, adopting Economic Growth & Cultural Vitality as one of the city’s five strategic priorities.
