Have a Pawsitively Good Time, Come to Dog Days at the Library!

Join the Library for a doggone good time to wrap up Summer Reading with dog-related activities on Saturday, August 24th from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Santa Monica Main Library.
Bring your favorite stuffed animal to read puppy stories, sing and play with Mayor Gleam Davis at the August edition of Let’s Read with Gleam! (10:30 – 11:00 am)
Kids complete your Summer Reading goals with Paws 2 Read by reading to a trained four-legged friend who loves listening to readers of all skill levels. Call 310-458-8621 to reserve a time slot between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Bring a small photo of Fido and turn it into a button, decorate a doggy bandana and more. The Santa Monica animal shelter will provide lots of information for dog lovers on adopting and other services. Visit all 10 craft and tech activity stations in the lobby from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
At 1 p.m cap off the day in the auditorium with a movie screening of a heartwarming dog-umentary that follows five spirited pups in their quest to become guide dogs for the blind.
Admission is free and all are welcome. Leave your pets at home, only service animals are allowed in the Library. Tag a picture of your lit-loving dog on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for a pooch-tastic prize. #SMPLDogDays
Celebrate Dog Days @ the Library the month of August by donating items for the Santa Monica Animal Shelter from August 1 to 31. Donation bins and wish lists available at all Library locations. Don’t miss out, it’s going to be pawsitively awesome!
