July is National Parks & Recreation Month, and there’s no better time to get out and play in Santa Monica.
Make the most of summer with cool camps and awesome aquatics, arts and recreation classes for tots, kids and teens, events for the whole family, and an array of amazing adult enrichment programs.
Stay cool… in the pool.
Santa Monica has two beautiful facilities, the Annenberg Community Beach House and the Santa Monica Swim Center, offering swimming fun, events, and lessons for the whole family! Register for summer swim classes here.
Enjoy the Annenberg Community Beach House’s chill summer events:
- Fridays, July 12 & 26 and Aug. 9 & 23, 6-9 p.m.: Relax in the heated, historic pool with pool floats and snacks at Sunset Swim for adults.
- Thursdays, July 18 & Aug. 15, 5-8 p.m.: Pack a picnic, grab friends and family and enjoy s’mores and a live musical duo for a Sunset Picnic.
Kick back at the Santa Monica Swim Center with their special summer events:
- Friday, July 12, 4-7 p.m.: Get ready for an evening of pool floats, entertainment and more at Family & Friends Splash Night. No reservations needed — just bring your swimsuit and enthusiasm!
- Friday, Aug. 2, 7-8:45 p.m.: Teen Night is back! Chill in the pool, challenge your friends on the floating obstacle course and enjoy pizza and sweet treats for all.
Get your groove on… on a park lawn.
Through live performance, entertainment and activities, we will celebrate music, arts and culture in the park for all to enjoy!
Mark your calendars for our summer concert series:
- Endless Summer C.A.M.P. (Community |Art | Music | Picnic) - Saturdays in August (3, 10, 17,24)
- Americana in the Park - Sundays in September (1, 8, 15, 22 & 29)
Enjoy a popular sport… on the pickleball court.
Come experience one of the hottest recreational crazes around. In case you haven’t heard, you can now enroll in drop-in pickleball at Santa Monica’s Memorial Park courts. Learn more.
And that’s just to name a few activities! Keep up to date on community recreation classes and camps on our website and keep an eye on the city’s events calendar for more details on all of the above events and more.
Santa Monica is a gem year-round, but it especially shines during the summer, and we in the city’s Recreation and Arts Department encourage everyone to take advantage of all that our city has to offer. Happy recreating!
