Please join the city’s Office of Sustainability and the Environment in congratulating this year’s Sustainable Student Poster Contest winners!
The annual Sustainable Student Poster Contest is a partnership between the city and Sustainable Works and was established to spread awareness about sustainability, engage with the next generation of environmental changemakers and encourage sustainable behavior change.
Over the past few months, students from Santa Monica public and private schools were given a presentation on the city’s Sustainable City Plan, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, what it means to be a sustainable city, and sustainability initiatives the city has been planning and working on.
Students in grades K-12 who live or go to school in Santa Monica were invited to submit a poster around the theme “Celebrating 30 Years of Sustainability in Santa Monica” in honor of the Plan’s 30th anniversary. The city received 629 poster entries, and 20 winners were selected.
