Learn how you can help protect our planet at this drop-in event with information tables, mini-presentations, and activities for all ages. Events include:
- 3 - 6 p.m. Friends Bookstore is open for sustainable book shopping!
- 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Get your hands dirty with the California Climate Action Corps Fellows and Santa Monica Community Gardens Staff. Plant native milkweed, dissect owl pellets, explore a worm bin and learn about some cool bees from our Bee Specialist.
- 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Camera Obscura Artist in Residence Raphaele Cohen-Bacry presents a collage/assemblage workshop incorporating recycled and re-purposed materials.
- 3:30 p.m. The Urban Forest team presents a family-friendly talk on the Importance of Trees. Get answers to your tree care questions at their Ask an Arborist! table.
- 4 p.m. City of Santa Monica Poet Laureate, Anne Carmack, presents “Poems for the Planet,” an interactive poetry workshop honoring the Earth for National Poetry Month.
