Santa Monica, California – Santa Monica Public Library is proud to present EX LIBRIS - The New York Public Library, a film by Frederick Wiseman, at the Main Library’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium on Saturday, January 9, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.

Join us for a one-time only, free screening of this remarkable observational documentary film, in its qualifying run for Academy Award nomination consideration.  In this, the 41st documentary by Frederick Wiseman, the legendary filmmaker brings his incisive vision behind the scenes of one of the world’s greatest institutions of learning, capturing the vast programmatic scope of the New York Public Library system.  Funding for EX LIBRIS – The New York Public Library was provided by Just Films/Ford Foundation, Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), LEF Moving Image, Sundance Institute, Pershing Square Foundation, Utah Film Center, Independent Television Service (ITVS) and Kanopy.  (Film runtime: 3 hours, 25 min.)
