Police Crime Report of Stephen Bannon

August 26, 2016 11:40 AM

The City of Santa Monica has released a Police Crime Report detailing allegations against Stephen Kevin Bannon of domestic violence. The incident was reported to Santa Monica Police Department on January 1, 1996 and was presented to the SMPD Criminal Division for case evaluation on January 12, 1996.

SMPD filed three misdemeanor charges, all based on Penal sections: witness intimidation (Section 136.1); domestic violence with traumatic injury (273.5); and battery (242). The defendant was arraigned on March 12, 1996 in the Los Angeles Municipal Court, which issued a domestic violence protective order against the defendant. On August 12, 1996, the matter was set for jury trial, but the case was dismissed because the alleged victim failed to appear for trial.

The prosecutor in court that day was Norman Wegener. Mr. Wegener handled domestic violence cases for the office during that time period. He is no longer employed by the City of Santa Monica.
