City Continues Improvements to Santamonica.gov

The City of Santa Monica continues efforts to enhance and upgrade its customer service systems with improvements this week to santamonica.gov. The City’s rollout of new website upgrades make information easier to find and access across all devices. The new pages provide additional context on what information the users can find, what the city is doing in each area, and the available resources in an easy-to-use format.
With this batch of improved pages, the navigation of the new website categorizes information by topic instead of by department. The navigation prioritizes the information Santa Monica community members most frequently access.
“We hope the community explores these latest improvements on santamonica.gov and continues to check the site regularly for the information and resources residents need about City services and new ways to be involved in Santa Monica community life,” said Interim City Manager Lane Dilg.
Anyone interested in exploring the new pages, can visit the programs and housing landing pages as just two examples of the easy-to-navigate content. Future updates will include “topic explainer” pages that serve as a single hub on topics with several areas of focus, including a new COVID-19 hub and an explainer on how to do business in Santa Monica. The City is also working to modernize payment processes city-wide including improvements to utility billing.
In addition to these new features to santamonica.gov, the City is also beginning a transition to new email addresses reflective of the new website - first.last@santamonica.gov. All existing email addresses will work for the foreseeable future with no plans to eliminate those addresses. Members of the community who correspond with City staff will begin to see this new email structure used. This will be a seamless transition due to forwarding, and the community does not need to change the emails they use to communicate with the City.
