How to Apply for a Commercial Fitness Trainer Permit

This page will explain how to apply for a Commercial Fitness Trainer Permit.  Follow the step below to process to obtain a Commercial Fitness Trainer Permit. Note:  A Permittee is not required to pay the quarterly use charge unless the Permittee operates at Palisades Parks & Beach Parks for which a quarterly use charge shall apply.

  1. Complete the application

  2. Acquire general liability insurance and additional insured

    After you acquire general liability insurance then add the follow in language to be included as your additional insured "The City of Santa Monica, its officers, officials, employees, and volunteers.".

  3. Obtain a City of Santa Monica business license

    Contact Santa Monica Business License office here. 

  4. Submit all 3 documents

    Email the completed application, general liability insurance plus addition insured and, City of Santa Monica business license to beach.house@santamonica.gov
