How To Be Placed on Call for Witness Testimony
If you are a victim or witness in a criminal case and the case has been set for trial, you will receive a subpoena. Since most court proceedings do not commence on the date you have been subpoenaed, please call our office and agree to be placed “ON CALL”.
You will need to provide our office with your contact information as well as your date of birth and ID/CDL information.
Placing yourself on call, will avoid an unnecessary trip to court. Once you are placed on call, you will remain on‐call for 10 days following the date noted on the subpoena or until you are informed by a member of the City Attorney's office that the on‐call status has ended. However, if within the 10-day period you receive a call to appear, you must appear, within 4 hours of the time you are called.
To place yourself on call, please call the City Attorney’s office at 310.458.8331.
