BE FRUITFUL: Bare Root Fruit Tree Workshop & Women's History Month Celebration
Join us at this very special workshop about how to grow Bare Root Fruit Trees successfully as we also take the opportunity to celebrate Women's History Month.
Daniela Roveda, UC Master Gardener and co-leader for the Master Gardeners’ Orchard Team, will focus on planting, regular care, pruning and other tips you need to know to grow Bare Root Fruit Trees successfully. She teaches individuals of all ages, is the student advisor at the Organic Learning Garden at Santa Monica College, has taught Grow LA Victory Garden courses and runs pruning and grafting workshops.
The program includes Bare Root Fruit Tree giveaways. Interested in taking home one of the limited number of trees? Please fill out THIS FORM.
In celebration of Women's History Month, our Mobility Team will be leading a Bike Ride from the garden starting at 8:30 AM. We will be recreating our Tree of Thanks at the Ishihara Park Learning Garden later in the month, and we will be asking visitors to decorate one of the available cards with a note for a woman who has made an impact in their lives or others.
Come at 9 am and grab a cup of coffee, pastry and wander around the Main Street Community Gardens. Workshop starts promptly at 10:00 AM. Limited seating, please bring a chair or blanket.
