Santa Monica Fire Department Recognize Citizen for Heroic Actions

On Thursday, April 18, 2019, the Santa Monica Fire Department recognized Sarah Moyer RN, a Providence Saint John’s Health Center, Emergency Room Nurse, for her heroic actions assisting a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on the I-10 Freeway on February 7, 2019.
Arriving on scene firefighters found Sarah Moyer, RN, providing medical aid to the injured pedestrian. Sarah was also calmly speaking to the patient and gathering valuable information paramedics needed to make a swift and accurate assessment. Because of her actions Paramedics had the patient en-route to a trauma center inside of 10 minutes.
Her professionalism, bravery, and compassion for others impressed the entire Santa Monica Fire crew, who extend their sincerest gratitude to Sarah for her truly heroic acts that evening.
Sarah’s family, friends, and co-workers attended the recognition ceremony.
