Transportation Management Organization and Waze Carpool Pilot is a Success

The GoSaMo Transportation Management Organization (TMO) partnered with Waze Carpool for a pilot program that offered $2 rides to all carpools starting or ending in Santa Monica. The pilot, which ran from mid-September to mid-November, saw some incredible results. Together we saved an astounding 100,626 vehicle miles travelled and diverted 79,863 lbs of CO2. Our program has also been one of the most successful Waze Carpool pilots ever!

With a population that swells during the day, Santa Monica is no stranger to traffic. Reducing the number of solo drivers and cars on the road is one way to reduce traffic and the mission of the GoSaMo Transportation Management Organization. The TMO was excited to partner with Waze because Santa Monica has many employees who are commuting from the San Fernando Valley, South Bay and other areas not easily accessible by transit. And carpooling can be a great solution for these employees!
