How to Get an EV Parking Permit for City Lots with EV Chargers

Two EV Parking Permit options are available as of July 1, 2023. If you are an EV driver that frequently uses the chargers at any of the following City lots, you can purchase an annual EV Parking Permit rather than paying for parking each time you enter the lot. All chargers are level 2 ChargePoint stations.

Parking Permit Options:

1. Beach Lot 5 South EV Parking Permit

Seniors 62 and older are eligible for a Senior Day Beach Parking permit at an even further discounted rate by clicking here

2. EV Parking Permit for Lots 7, 8, 9 & 11

Locations:

1 permit provides access to all lots. Drivers must adhere to posted time limits.

Steps to Purchase Your Permit:

  1. Gather Your Documents

    TO PURCHASE AN EV PARKING PERMIT, YOU MUST PROVIDE:

    • Valid California Driver's License
    • Valid California Vehicle Registration reflecting your name and EV - no temporary registrations, documentation, commercial vehicles, company-owned vehicles, or RV's allowed.

    If you are not the registered owner of the vehicles, we will accept the insurance card with your name and registered owner of the vehicle. 

  2. 2. Pick up your permit at the Go SaMoCenter

    The Parking Operations Office is located at 1444 4th Street, in the Go SaMoCenter.               

    There is 90 minutes free parking in the structure. Our counters are open 8:30 to 11:30am and 1:00 to 4:30 pm, Monday thru Thursday and every other Friday.
